Manchester City made a power move by adding a left-back, Rayan Ait-Nouri, from Wolves for £31m.
As a result, he is available to play for the Sky Blues at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which starts this weekend in the United States.
Ait-Nouri has a deal until the 2030 summer with Man City, who did not win any silverware last season. He joined Wolves in 2021 and has long experience playing in England.
In the last four years, he had played 114 times in the domestic league for Wolves. It does not include the 21 league appearances he made while on a season-long loan in the 2020-21 season with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
From under 18 to 21, Rayan chose to play for France. However, he then shifted his nationality to Algeria and made a senior debut in 2023.
Ait-Nouri said: “City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the chance to play for the club is a dream come true.”
Ait-Nouri is just 24 years old and can also play as a wing-back. The modern era of football glorifies full-backs who are keen to move forward, and Ait-Nouri is one such player.
