One of Arsenal’s biggest aims in the ongoing summer transfer market is to sign a world-class striker.
With several clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and others in desperate need of a striker, it has become a hard task for any major European side to get a key number nine.
Viktor Gyokeres, who was linked with a move to Manchester United too early this month, has become a key target for the Gunners alongside RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
Gyokeres had a blasting season in the Liga Portugal, while Sesko did the same in the Bundesliga. Arsenal would be happy to have either one, as the competition overall has made some of these transfers a costly affair.
Arsenal finished second in the PL last season, 10 points behind champions Liverpool (84 points). They reached the UCL final too, but were knocked out by Paris Saint-Germain.
A key reason behind not winning any silverware was the lack of firepower in the number nine position.
Otherwise, things could have been different overall. Even in the 2025 winter transfer market, Sesko was on Arsenal’s list of transfers.
This is why using a striker has become a must for Arsenal and their pursuit of winning silverware in the 2025-26 season.
