Andrea Berta, who is the new sporting director of Arsenal, has met the agent of Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams (as per the Guardian’s report).
Williams is a player that Manchester City also reportedly want to sign. The Spanish international’s current deal ends with Bilbao in the 2027 summer.
The 22-year-old winger was a part of Spain’s Euro-winning campaign last year.
Williams, in 127 La Liga appearances, has scored 15 goals for Bilbao.
He made his professional debut in 2019 for Basconia. Two years later, Williams moved to Athletic Bilbao.
Having made apps for Spain’s U19 and U21 teams, Williams earned his first Spain National side cap in 2022.
He has added five goals in 28 apps for Luis de la Fuente’s side.
