Several reports are suggesting that Enzo Fernandez is one of the key targets of Real Madrid this summer. However, Chelsea are looking to make him stay (per The Guardian).
Fernandez arrived at Chelsea in 2023 as a 2022 FIFA World Cup winner from Benfica. The 24-year-old central midfielder has played 81 Premier Legaue games for the Blues, scoring nine times.
As Chelsea have a chance to seal the Champions Legaue spot for next season with the weekend’s clash against Nottingham Forest, it can tempt them to make Fernandez stay.
The contract is not an issue for Chelsea, as the Argentine international has signed a deal until 2032.
Seven goals and 13 assists in 44 outings in all competitions for Chelsea make Fernandez a very tempting central midfielder. An offer from Real Madrid might hamper the growth of Chelsea, who are aiming to challenge for the titles next season.
