Novak Djokovic parted ways with Andy Murray as a coach early in May 2025. The linkup between two of the former rivals created headlines in late 2024.
However, Djokovic decided to see his future as a tennis player without the Murray linkup. The 24-time major winner has no plans to add a new coach for now. It is because he is happy with the current coaching staff.
Djokovic said it was clear that he didn’t see him getting anything more from Murray.
The Serb said: “We felt like we couldn’t get more out of that partnership on the court, and that’s all there is to it.”
“My respect towards Andy remains the same, even more actually, I got to know him as a person.”
The 2023 US Open was the last Grand Slam the 37-year-old has won. 2024 was one of the most unproductive years of Djokovic.
He did not do well at the 2025 Australian Open either. However, there are still three majors to be played this year. So, a potential comeback is possible overall.
