Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola called Kevin De Bruyne the best passer he has world with after global icon Lionel Messi.
The former Barcelona manager said these golden words for the Belgium international, who is about to leave the Sky Blues this summer.
In April 2025, De Bruyne cleared it out to the fans about his plans to leave Man City after the end of this season. The former Chelsea attacking midfielder arrived in Manchester in 2015.
He has made Man City, from a decent European club to, a world sensation where the club has grown the fanbase all over the world.
72 goals, 119 assists in 286 Premier League outings describe the impact De Bruyne.
And Guardiola calling him as the best passer after Messi says a lot.
It means De Bruyne is being placed ahead of Andres Iniesta and Xavi, whom Pep managed during his Barca days.
Not to forget that during Pep’s days leading FC Bayern Munich, he coached Toni Kroos and Xavi Alonso. Both of them were famous for their incredible passing.
Guardiola said: “One is Messi,” said Guardiola. “And the other two, let me think about it…OK, let me put Kevin second.”
