Pep Guardiola is happy to see Manchester City dominating again against a top side after a while.
The Sky Blues outdid Juventus 5-2 in their final FIFA Club World Cup group stage game.
The massive defeat did not knock Juve out of the competition, as victories over Al Ain and Wydad AC helped them gain six points from their first two games.
Man City remained unbeaten, winning all three group games.
Jeremy Doku, Pierre Kalulu (own goal), Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Savinho scored one goal each and led City to score 5 goals at Camping World Stadium.
Teun Koopmeiners and Dusan Vlahovic scored one goal each, but it was not enough to win the match.
Now in the semi-finals, Man City will face Group H runners-up Al Hilal. While Juve will lock horns against Real Madrid.
After making a statement against Juventus, Guardiola said: “I liked the way we did it.”
“It has been a long, long time since we had a performance like this on and off the ball. The players were committed and we are happy to beat a top side.”
Guardiola’s Man City are now one of the favourites to win the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
