Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim feels that losing four times to a team in a season is very rare. In the Europa League final, the Red Devils will face fellow English club Tottenham Hotspur.
United have lost three times to Spurs this season already. However, Amorim thinks that losing for a club four times does not have too realistic odds.
As United and Spurs have shown poor form in the Premier League, reaching the Europa League final have shocked many football fans and pundits.
Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro scored one goal each, helping Spurs beat Bodo/Glimt 5-1 on aggregate to advance to the final.
Man United had an even better statement against Athletic Club, winning the second leg 4-1 and 7-1 on aggregate.
Mikel Jauregizar scored a goal in the first half at Old Trafford on Thursday, giving the away side some comfort.
But the Red Devils scored four goals in the second half, making a huge statement. Mason Mount scored a brace, alongside Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund added a goal apiece.
On the 21st of May, Spurs and Man United will meet in the Europa League final at Estadio de San Mames.
Ruben Amorim said: “If you think in the odds it’s hard for the club to lose four times in a row.”
“We can think that way.”
