Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan finished the first leg of the Champions League last-4 in an impressive fashion, a 3-3 draw.
The away side began the contest in style, with Marcus Thuram taking just 30 seconds to open the scoreline on away soil. Thuram’s teammate Denzel Dumfries made things count by adding a crucial brace.
His first goal fame came in the opening 45 minutes, and the following one in the second half.
Inter might have taken a 3-0 advantage into the second leg. But the wonderkid Lamine Yamal, 17, did present his creative touch again by adding an incredible individual goal in the first half.
He was followed by Ferran Torres, making the scoreline 2-2 in the first half alone. In the second half, Yann Sommer’s own goal led Barca have a 3-3 draw at home.
The second leg will take place at Inter’s home next Tuesday (May 6).
Yamal, who became the youngest ever to score a goal in the UCL semis on Wednesday, did get great praise from Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi.
Inzaghi said: “Lamine is the kind of talent that comes along every 50 years, and to see him up close really impressed me.”
It was Yamal’s fifth goal in the 2024-25 UCL season, having contributed four assists too.
Even Baca head coach Hansi Flick did praise the 2024 Euro winner with open arms.
Hansi Flick said: “He’s special, he’s a genius. In the big matches, he shows up.”
