Real Madrid lost the Copa del Rey final 3-2 against nemesis Barcelona last week. At the end of the massive football encounter, Antonio Rudiger was shown a red card as he threw an object at the referee.
Official Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea did not like the actions of the former Chelsea defender.
He said: “Throwing an object from the technical area, which missed me”.
It was reported by the media that Rudiger threw an ice cube at Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) took this action in a serious manner and gave him a six-match ban.
It came under “for minor violence against the referees”.
Jude Bellingham and Lucas Vazquez also received red cards late in the final. The German international broke the RFEF disciplinary code’s article 101; hence, he has to serve a six-match ban. It could have been even 12 matches at max.
The suspension will work in the domestic league matches only. It means that until the start of the next season, Rudiger will face the ban.
