It was another brilliant evening for Kolkata Knight Riders legend Sunil Narine in the Indian Premier League.
The West Indies cricket legend took three wickets, scored 27 off 16 balls and created a glorious impact to help KKR gain two points against the in-form Delhi Capitals.
At the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday, DC won the toss and chose to field first.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi, 20, inspired the team with scoring 44 runs. But the young Indian batsman was supported well by the top order.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Narine and Ajinkya Rahane scored runs in the 20s each and made a decent base for the middle and lower-order batters to put things in favour of the three-time IPL winners.
The defending champions did see Rinku Singh adding 36 runs and making the visitors score 204/9 in 20 overs.
Leaving Faf du Plessis’ 62 off 45 balls alone, the top order of Delhi did not click well. DC captain Axar Patel’s 43 runs and Vipraj Nigam’s 38 did make some impact. But overall, DC were not able to keep the pace alive.
It made them contribute 190/9 in overs, facing defeat by 14 runs. It was a much-needed victory for KKR, who have nine points after 10 matches (7th).
It was DC’s fourth loss of the season, placing them fourth with 12 points in 10 games.
