Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan hailed the fanbase of Royal Challengers Bengaluru after Rajat Patidar’s side beat the Punjab Kings by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday (June 3) to win their first IPL title in 18 years.
It was a landmark victory for cricket legend Virat Kohli, who waited for 18 seasons to lift the prestigious title. RCB scored 190/9 in 20 overs and defended the total well.
Kohli scored a productive 43 off 35 balls and made a sound impact. It was a sad evening for Punjab, as they failed to win the IPL title.
Neither RCB nor PBKS had won the IPL title before. However, RCB have broken the curse.
Pathan expressed his views on X. He said: “AGAR RCB FANS JESI LOYALTY APKO MIL JAAE, TO DUNIYA MEIN AAP KOI BHI JUNG JEET SAKTE HAI.”
“YE TROHPY RCB KE FANS KE NAAM.”
Pathan dedicated this victory to the loyal RCB fanbase, who never stopped supporting the team in the ups and downs.
