The India head coach Gautam Gambhir has backed Karun Nair for making a glorious impact on his comeback.

Due to impressive seasons in domestic cricket and doing well in the 2025 Indian Premier Legaue, Nair got the chance to be a part of Team India for their upcoming England Test series.

The 33-year-old has played six times in Tests for India, scoring 374 runs. It includes 303 not out too.

Gambhir said (BCCI TV): “The amount of runs he got, the never-give-up attitude, it’s inspiring for the entire team. Welcome back, Karun Nair.”

He added: “Comebacks are never easy.”

India’s great Gambhir, on the one hand, is happy with Nair finally getting the chance to play for India. On the other hand, he has made it clear that comebacks are not easy.

In the second half of June, India will play the first match against England in a five-match Test series.
