UFC legend Daniel Cormier is unhappy with Jon Jones not taking the challenge of Tom Aspinall for the UFC heavyweight title. Aspinall waited for more than a year to know that Jones didn’t fancy the fight.
Jones might be the favourite against Aspinall. However, not taking the challenge is frustrating overall. He last fought Stipe Miocic in November 2024, winning the fight in the third round.
Cormier said on his YouTube channel: “You’re talking about all these things and almost ignoring the right thing. The right thing is to go fight this kid and if you beat him, which is a real thing and a real likely scenario, you can then stick it to everybody like you’ve done on so many different occasions and tell them about it.”
Before Aspinall, Jones did make Francis Ngannou wait for a dream match in the UFC. But due to Jones being too demanding, the fight never took place. It shows Aspinall is not the first to get the cold treatment.
