India’s Kuldeep Yadav is happy with England’s pitches looking good for the spinners too, ahead of the five-match Test series, starting June 20.
It is the first series in the England Test tour after a long time where the visitors will not have Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, as both players have retired from red-ball cricket.
Yadav, who has played 13 Tests and taken 56 wickets, is one of the most experienced players overall for Shubman Gill’s side.
India last had a Test series in India in the 2021-22 season, where the series finished in a 2-2 draw after four matches. Due to the COVID-19 issues, the fifth match did not happen.
He said: “The wickets are looking good for spinners. It has been good for batting (in the Intra-Squad game here). First day there was moisture, seamers got help, but as the game progressed, spinners got in the game.”
The first match will happen at Headingley Carnegie.
