Ilia Topuria will face Charles Oliveira for the vacant UFC Lightweight Championship on Saturday. The Spanish MMA star feels he has all the tools to beat an experienced and former lightweight champion, Oliveira.
Topuria sees Paddy Pimblett as the biggest fight possible for him in the division. However, he wants Pimblett to battle against Justin Gaethje and earn a title shot rather than facing Arman Tsarukyan, whom he feels Pimblett can’t beat.
He said: “If he wants to assure his title, he has to fight with Justin Gaethje.”
“Because if he fights with Arman [Tsarukyan], I think Arman’s going to beat him. So the easiest path he has to get the title shot is Justin. Stylistically.”
Ilia Topuria is unbeaten as a pro with 16 wins in 16 MMA fights.
Paddy Pimblett has lost twice in his MMA career, but he is unbeaten in the UFC with winning all seven fights. He has already beaten credible names like Tony Ferguson and Michael Chandler.
