India won the second Test of the five-match series against hosts England on 7 July 2025 by 336 runs to level the series 1-1.

Ahead of the Lord’s Test, England head coach Brendon McCullum wants his team to prepare better, as in the third match, Jasprit Bumrah will return, most likely.

Due to fitness issues, Bumrah did not play in the second match. But without the star Indian fast bowler, India outdid England in style.

McCullum said: “Jasprit Bumrah will more than likely come back in for the next one, so we’ve just got to make sure we’re well planned and well prepared and ready for the next challenge. It will be quite different, I imagine, to this surface and that’s probably a good thing for us.”

The Lord’s Test will start on the 10th of July. India winning the next game would make things 2-1, giving the away side an advantage. Hence, a bounceback is must for the home side.
