Botafogo have created history by beating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in their second FIFA Club World Cup 2025 match.
Igor Jesus’ 36th-minute strike won the Brazilian side a massive game.
The PSG defeat shocked the world as they looked at a good touch while facing Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid in their CWC opener, 4-0.
The victory over Botafogo would have allowed PSG to reach the last-16. However, they now have to beat Seattle Sounders in their final Group B game to move ahead.
Botafogo won their first match against Seattle Sounders 2-1 recently. They now sit at the top with six points in 2 matches.
Still, Botafogo need to beat or draw with Atletico Madrid to make it into the round of 16. Meanwhile, Diego Simeone’s side bounced back after the PSG loss and beat Seattle Sounders 3-1.
PSG’s final game is against the Seattle Sounders. It is a possible, easy game for them to win. Hence, Group B has become a three-club race.
