Levi Colwill’s second-half strike helped Chelsea win their biggest game of the 2024-25 Premier Legaue season against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.
It was the final of the season, where both sides required victory to qualify for the 2024-25 UCL season with ease. Colwill’s goal led Chelsea to finish fourth with 69 points in 38 PL games, four ahead of seventh-placed Forest.
It means Forest will not play in the Europa Legaue next season as it requires the sixth position for the UEL qualification.
Ahead of Chelsea, Man City finished third. Even Newcastle United qualified for the Champions Legaue despite losing Sunday’s clash against Everton 1-0 at home.
The Magpies got the help from Manchester United, who beat Aston Villa 2-0 at Old Trafford in a controversial game. Villa finished sixth and opened the doors for the Europa League.
As champions, Liverpool and second-placed Arsenal were already qualified before the final week of the 2024-25 season, which did not impact them much.
As Newcastle won the 2025 EFL Cup, it gave them a qualification to the Conference League. But Eddie Howe’s side have now booked the UCL spot. Forest, being seventh in the PL, get the Conference League qualification.
