Celtic legend Chris Sutton sees that the 2025 Europa Legaue final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur is a must-win for both clubs.
The 2024-25 domestic league season has turned out to be one of the poorest for Man United and Spurs. They are finishing the Premier League in the bottom half.
Other than winning the Europa League final, which is hours away, there is no way for either side to end this season on a fine note.
Sutton told BBC Radio 5: “I can’t remember such a game which was so highly pressurised for both teams.”
For Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, even the Europa League victory might not help him save his job. For Man United manager Ruben Amorim, winning the Europa League will help him to save his job and get good players this summer.
This is why the pressure to win is at a very high level. Both clubs have a golden ticket to win the second-best cup in Europe and qualify for the next season’s Champions Legaue title.
