Florian Wirtz is Liverpool’s target this summer. Due to the FIFA Club World Cup, which will start this weekend in the United States, the transfer window was opened for all the clubs from 1 to 10 June.
This allowed most teams to make the deal early in the summer. As per Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen have verbally agreed to Wirtz’s transfer.
Including add-ons, the German international is costing the Reds £127m. For a player, even in modern times, it is a lot. However, Arne Slot did not spend much in his first season at Liverpool.
He made them win the Premier Legaue last season with not several additions in the 2024 summer. Wirtz was the key reason in Leverkusen winning their first German top-flight title in 2024.
Wirtz had a 31-goal contribution in all competitions for Leverkusen last season, scoring 15 goals and assisting 16 times.
Meanwhile, the transfermarket reopens on June 16 and will close on September 1.
