Karun Nair comeback to India’s Test squad is one of the biggest modern comeback stories. Nair scored a triple hundred for India in a Test, but got dropped due to inconsistency.
As a result, his form in domestic cricket went down. But in the last three years, Nair stayed strong and made a perfect comeback.
Putting the cherry on top of the cake, he played well for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025. This made selectors pick him for India’s five-match Test series against hosts England, starting in an hour (20 June).
Nair said: “My first thought when I woke up (after being dropped) was I want to play Test cricket, I want to play for India again… that’s probably what kept me going.”
Nair has played just six times in a Test for India. However, some experts feel that his second innings with India might turn fruitful.
