Chelsea’s aim of getting a striker this summer is almost done, as a football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has made it clear that a part of the medical has been completed well, and the deal worth £30m will soon be completed.
Liam Delap had a move to Ipswich Town, who got relegated in the 2024-25 season, last summer. Delap scored 12 goals in his debut season at Ipswich in the PL and became a red-hot striker for several English sides.
However, the Blues have a long history of 20 years or so, where several top-class strikers failed massively.
Hence, it is even a gamble from Chelsea’s side as Liam Delap has proven in just one English top-flight season. So there are chances of seeing something better or a flop show.
Chelsea are going to offer him the Champions Legaue action, which is a positive overall.
Delap knows the art of winning silverware, as he was a part of Manchester City from 2020 to 2024, where he spent a decent time on loan moves to polish his skills.
