Jack Della Maddalena has 100 per cent confidence in beating the welterweight champion, Belal Muhammad, at UFC 315 this weekend.
Other than losing his first two MMA fights in 2016, Maddalena has not lost any since. He has won 17 of his 19 professional contests as MMA athlete.
In July 2024, Muhammad beat Leon Edwards to win the UFC welterweight title.
This will be his first defence of the title.
Della Maddalena told MMA Fighting: “He’s good at winning.”
“So he’ll revert back to just trying to win. Obviously, I don’t underestimate his striking, but I think I can get him on the feet and on the ground. I think I’m a better MMA fighter than him.
“I wouldn’t want to have a boxing match with him because I like MMA. I like the rule set. I like kicking. Kicking him and elbow him.”
Maddalena is unbeaten in his seven UFC fights, aiming to win his first title shot at Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada on Saturday.
