Mohamed Salah, who has decided to stay at Liverpool for two more seasons recently, does not like the way the English champions’ fans are treating Trent Alexander-Arnold.
In last Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal at Anfield, the England right-back came from the bench and was booed by the home supporters.
It is because the 26-year-old full-back has let his contract expire this summer (June 30).
It is most likely clear that his next destination is Real Madrid, a club LFC fights in the Champions Legaue. Alexander-Arnold is a Liverpool-born and bred, who came from the club’s academy.
Making his debut for the Reds in 2016, Alexander-Arnold has won everything at Liverpool with two Premier Legaue titles and a Champions Legaue in 2019 were the biggest highlights.
Salah, who is a long-time teammate of Trent, feels that the club should not boo him and treat him with respect.
He told Sky Sports: “I think somehow the fans were being harsh with him.”
“I think he didn’t deserve it at the time, he deserved the fans to treat him the best way possible because he gave it all to the fans.”
There is hardly a better right-back than Alexander-Arnold going forward and providing great assists in the final third. Hence, his leaving after making Liverpool win the PL title is something the fans have not loved.
They felt Trent staying would have helped them win silverware in future too.
