Many Philadelphia Eagles players, including Jalen Hurts, did not visit the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl glory.

According to Hurts, “scheduling conflicts” ought to be the main reason behind not visiting US President Donald Trump at the White House.

As the invite was optional, only 50 per cent of Eagles players attended the ceremony. Back in February, Hurts’ Philadelphia outdid the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans.

Hurts, who did not take part in the White House ceremony, got praise from President Donald Trump. He called him “terrific guy and terrific player”.

Trump said: “(The) Eagles have turned out to be an incredible team, an incredible group.”

AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Brandon Graham were other players who didn’t take part in the ceremony.

Not to forget that in 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles did win the Super Bowl. But all of the players refused to visit the White House.

This happened as Trump, during his first term as the US President, disliked how sports players were taking a knee.

This was something many sports stars did not like at all.

Dating back to the 19th Century, American sports teams have been celebrating after winning something special by visiting the White House.

However, in the Trump era, several sports stars have refused to visit the White House for different reasons.

Back in 2017, Trump disinvited the Golden State Warriors after their NBA victory. MVP Stephen Curry said back then that he did not have any wish to visit the White House. Even in 2018, they were not invited after winning another NBA season.
