Viktor Gyokeres is one of the most talked-about strikers in the world in 2025. Strong media updates have come this week about Gyokeres joining his former head coach, Ruben Amorim, at Manchester United.
Gyokeres, 27, had a productive 2024-25 season. He blasted 54 goals and provided 13 assists in 52 matches in all competitions for Sporting CP.
Gyokeres making a move to Man United will be a massive statement, as they have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are leading the race to get Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
As Bruno Fernandes has decided to stay at Man United, the arrival of Gyokeres, Cunha (signed), and Mbeumo might work to solve the problems in scoring goals, as United had a poor touch in making the final three productive.
Gyokeres has experience of playing professional football in England for Swansea City and Coventry City. It was 2023 when he moved from Coventry to Sporting CP.
The Swedish international has scored 68 goals in 66 Liga Portugal appearances since 2023.
Amorim knows how he plays, so it can be an easier process to make the striker comfortable at Old Trafford. However, Arsenal and other clubs are also monitoring his situation.
