Surpassing a five-way play-off, Mao Saigo won the 2025 Chevron Championship. It was her career’s first major title.

A birdie meeting the 18th hole benefited her in the final round of 74. It did help her get the play-off spot. Other than Saigo, Lindy Duncan, Ariya Jutanugarn, Hyo-Joo Kim, and Yin Ruoning secured the play-off spot.

The Club at Carlton Woods in Texas saw all the top five golfers finish seven under par.

It was the LPGA major’s largest play-off. The day saw Jutanugarn leading things in comfort, but she lost the position from her set position.

Five-foot putt and a birdie helped Saigo win the 2025 Chevron Championship.

Saigo said: “I was so laser focused and nervous and really in the zone.”

“All I could think of was the ball in front of me. I couldn’t see anything else.

“I was shaking from nervousness, but I did my best to calm down and I shot and it went in.”

At the 2025 Chevron Championship, it was a dream-come-true moment for Mao Saigo.
