The BCCI has come up with a new rule ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League.

To make sure that pitches are just perfect, the BCCI is allowing a team to do only seven practice sessions and just two warm-up games before the new season starts.

The BCCI plans to protect the pitches before the season starts later this month to allow the surfaces to give their best when the LIVE action takes place.

On the 22nd of March, the season starts with Kolkata Knight Riders locking horns against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens.

The rules are such that any practice match should not go ahead of 3.5 hours under lights, needing BCCI’s approval.

In case both teams are practising at the same venue, two pitches would allotted.

The season of the IPL starts on 22nd March until May 5, 2025.
