The Gujarat Titans have collected two crucial points against the Delhi Capitals, chasing the 200-run total in 19 overs without losing any wickets at the Arun Jaitley on Sunday (18 May 2025).
It was one of the rare games in the Indian Premier Legaue history where a team has won the game while chasing with 10 wickets.
The Delhi Capitals saw KL Rahul blast an unbeaten 112 runs in just 65 balls, helping the Delhi score 199 runs at the cost of three wickets in 20 overs. Abishek Porel’s 30 and Axar Patel’s 25 runs worked for the home side to put a decent total at home.
A 200-target looked very hard to achieve. But Sai Sudharsan’s 108 and Shubman Gill’s 93, both unbeaten, made sure that the 2022 IPL winners get an impressive 10-wicket victory.
Both sides have now won one game each in the regular IPL season, with Delhi winning the first game by five runs on May 2, 2025.
The Gujarat Titans are now leading the IPL table with 18 points after 12 games. With 13 points in 12 matches, fifth-placed Delhi can finish inside the top four to open the playoffs window. However, it would take some extra level of hard work in the coming days.
It is worth pointing out that the Delhi Capitals have never won the IPL title despite being one of the founding cities in 2008.
