The Oklahoma City Thunder have created history by winning the 2025 NBA Finals.
It is their second NBA title and first in the 21st century. The Thunder last won the NBA title before the latest glory in 1979.
Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a title-winning 29 points and provided 12 assists to win the game 103-91 against the Indiana Pacers in Oklahoma.
As a result, Mark Daigneault’s side won the NBA Finals 4-3. For the first time since 2016, the basketball fans saw the NBA Finals being decided in the seventh contest.
In 2008, they moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City, which makes it the first of its kind title for the new title.
Gilgeous-Alexander won the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) title.
He said: “It doesn’t feel real, so many hours, so many moments, so many emotions, so many nights of disbelief.”
At the start of the season, it would have been hard to see the Oklahoma City Thunder winning the NBA title. But they have done it in a fine fashion overall.
