It was a dream outcome for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as they beat the Punjab Kings by eight wickets in the Qualifier 1 in Mohali on Thursday.
Bengaluru winning the toss and picking to field first worked well.
But the batting order of PBKS did not shine well as they scored just 101 runs at the cost of 10 wickets in 14.1 overs.
Marcus Stoinis, scoring 26, contributed the highest individual runs for the home side.
For RCB, Suyash Sharma and Josh Hazlewood made an impact and took three wickets each.
It was an easy 102-run target for RCB. Opener Phil Salt remained not out with 56 runs in 27 balls, and worked well.
He got support from Virat Kohli’s 12, Mayank Agarwal’s 19 and Rajat Patidar’s unbeaten 15 runs.
RCB chased the 102-run target in 102 runs in 10 overs and reached the final.
Meanwhile, Punjab hold another chance of making it to the final. They will now battle against the winner of the Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians.
