Luis Enrique has managed to make Paris Saint-Germain the Champions Legaue winners. PSG outdid Inter Milan 5-0 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
Desire Doue’s brace and a goal each from Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu made PSG win their first-ever European title.
In 2020, they reached the UCL final but lost to FC Bayern Munich. Enrique has become the first PSG boss to do the European treble.
It is Enrique’s second UCL title as a manager, having won the first with Barcelona in the 2014-15 season.
Enrique, who lost his baby girl due to a major illness some time back, saw the PSG fans supporting him by paying tribute to his beloved family member in the final.
He said: “I’m very happy. It was very emotional at the end with the banner from the fans for my family. But I always think about my daughter.”
“Since day one, I said I wanted to win important trophies, and Paris had never won the Champions League. We did it for the first time. It’s a great feeling to make many people happy.”
The victory is even bigger for the PSG fans as in the 2024 summer, Kylian Mbappe left the club and joined Real Madrid to win the UCL title. But a season later, PSG became the European champions.
Enrique joined PSG in 2023, and in just two seasons, he has made them win the biggest competition in European club football.
