Pep Guardiola wants to take a break as a manager post his contract expires at Manchester City.
The three-time Champions League-winning manager told ESPN: “After my contract with City, I’m going to stop. I’m sure.”
“I don’t know if I’m going to retire, but I’m going to take a break.”
Guardiola also told ESPN that it does not mean that the ex-Barcelona boss would leave Man City after his present deal.
In the summer of 2027, his current deal with the Sky Blues expires. It means there are still two more seasons left in his current deal.
“I didn’t say I’m leaving now or at the end of season or the end of contract,” he said.
“I said when I finish my time here, be it one, two, three, four, five years, I will take a break.
“I won’t retire but I will take a break. What I am saying is when I am finished here I will take a break.”
On 1 July 2016, Guardiola joined Man City. He has become the most successful manager in the Citizens’ history.
Six Premier League titles, a UCL title in the 2022-23 season, two FA Cups, four Legaue Cups, three Community Shields, a Club World Cup and other individual and team titles, Guardiola has made Man City a mega team overall. He is the only manager to win the UCL title with Man City.
