Harry Brook has pulled out of the 2025 Indian Premier League as he wants to prepare better and serve his national side.

Delhi Capitals paid INR 6.25 Crore for signing Brook for the 2025 season. Brook has not pulled out of the mega T20 event twice in a row, making him prone to face a potential ban from the competition.

The IPL rule says: “Any player who registers in the player auction and after getting picked at the auction, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season, will get banned from participating in the tournament and player auction for 2 Seasons.”

However if the player is injured or has medical conditions, this rule won’t be applicable.

Brook made a statement on social media and said: “It is a really important time for England cricket and I want to fully commit to preparing for the upcoming series. In order to do this, I need time to recharge after the busiest period in my career to date.

“I know not everyone will understand, and I don’t expect them to, but I have to do what i believe is right, and playing for my country remains my priority and focus.”

Pulling back twice from the IPL makes Brook a hard player to invest for any side next year despite how good or bad his form is.
