As per some internal media reports, there is a high chance of Ishan Kishan not getting the ‘BCCI Central Contract’ again.

Other than Kishan, Shreyas Iyer was a high-profile name to not receive the central contract in 2024.

The BCCI officials were not happy with both players not taking domestic competitions seriously last year. Iyer, however, is coming after making a sound impact at the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Hence, there are high chances of him receiving the central contract.

But Kishan, who scored a mega-century in his Sunrisers Hyderabad debut recently in the Indian Premier League 2025, can stay away from BCCI’s mega offering in 2025.

On March 29, India head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will meet BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia in Guwahati for finalising the 2025 central contracts.

“Shreyas is set to regain his contract, and it will be in a top category. However, discussions are still ongoing on whether in Ishan’s case,” the report said.

After hitting well against Rajasthan Royals (scoring a century), Kishan got out against Lucknow Super Giants on the first ball he faced (27 March).
