Jeremie Frimpong, who is a star at Bayer Leverkusen, is close to making a deal with Liverpool (as per Mail).
Trent Alexander-Arnold announced his departure from Liverpool early in May, with Real Madrid being his possible next destination.
Frimpong, 24, joined the German side in 2021 from Celtic. In the 2023-24 season, he played a historical role in helping Leverkusen win the Bundesliga and German Cup.
He is one of the only like-for-like replacements of Trent, who also likes to create chances in the final third. In 33 German top-flight appearances, he has scored five goals and provided six assists.
Head coach Xavi Alonso is leaving the club after the present Bundesliga season, and a move to Liverpool looks possible.
He even knows England well, having spent a lot of time at the Manchester City academy from 2010 to 2019.
