The Lucknow Super Giants fans are angry towards captain Rishabh Pant for again flopping with the bat and not being able to make his side win against the Punjab Kings on Tuesday at Ekana Sports City, Lucknow.

The home side (LGS) lost the game by eight wickets. Shreyas Iyer’s side chased the 172 target in just 16.2 overs.

Punjab’s take on fielding first after winning the toss worked.

In-form Nicholas Pooran scored 44 runs in 30 balls but was not able to score ahead from the set position. Ayush Badoni’s 41 runs helped LSG put in a respective total. However, he did exhaust 33 runs which is not that fast from a T20 perspective.

And then Rishabh Pant scoring just two runs in five balls broke the back of the team. Punjab’s Arshdeep Singh gave away 42 runs in four overs but took three wickets too. He did get the support of his bowling partners to prevent Lucknow score a 200-plus total.

For Punjab, Priyansh Arya lost his wicket after scoring just eight runs. However, his opening partner Prabhsimran Singh added crucial 69 runs in just 34 deliveries.

Shreyas Iyer, first, made a partnership with Prabhsimran, scoring an unbeaten 52 runs and then guided Nehal Wadhera to add 43 runs not out in just 25 balls.

As Pant failed to contribute with the bat, the LSG fans showed their anger on social media.

Still trying to figure out what was so special about Rishabh Pant to get 27 crores. He is a terrible captain and an even worse T20 batter. What exactly did Goenka see in him to make him captain when they had Nicholas Pooran? pic.twitter.com/AC1kkAnQZn

Requesting BCCI to drop Rishabh Pant from Central Contract. He is not even the Top 10 wicketkeeper in India right now. @GautamGambhir @imAagarkar pic.twitter.com/VY7yVbIIVJ
