Prabhsimran Singh hit season’s ever-crucial 91 runs in 48 balls as the Pujab Kings defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by 37 runs in the Indian Premier League.
A 45-run backing from Shreyas Iyer helped Prabhsimran along side Shashank Singh’s unbeaten 33 in 15 balls.
Akash Singh, with a figure of two wickets for 30 runs in four overs, did provide the base to look for for the visitors.
However, the overall LSG bowlers failed massively. In 20 overs, they allowed PBKS score 236/5.
As the target of 237 was huge, Ayush Badoni’s 74 and Abdul Samad’s 45 runs did back LSG to put a decent total.
However, they did able to add 199/7 in 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh took three wickets and gave away just 16 runs in four overs. The 2024 T20 World Cup winner played a massive role with the bowl and made sure that Lucknow would not be able to shine.
With six defeats in 11 matches, LSG have slipped to seventh spot with 10 points. It was Punjab’s seventh win in 11 games, holding second position with 15 points.
