The match took place at the M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. RCB did approach this game after beating KKR and CSK with fine margins.

Gujarat played this high-profile match after winning one of their first two matches.

Playing away from home, GT won the toss and picked to field first.

The opening partnership of Virat Kohli and Phil Salt failed to click for the first time this season. Kohli added just seven runs and Slat contributed 14.

Devdutt Padikkal and captain Rajat Patidar also were not able to contribute well.

However, Liam Livingstone (54 runs), Jitesh Sharma (33) and Tim David (32) added some crucial runs and made sure that RCB bowlers had something to protect.

Even the away side did not get a fine start. GT captain Shubman Gill lost his wicket with ease, scoring only 14 runs.

But his opening partner Sai Sudarshan added 49 crucial runs in 36 balls. Sudarshan did get the backing from Jos Buttler, who scored a match-winning half-century.

Buttler’s unbeaten 73 runs in just 39 balls made sure that the away side won the game in 17.5 overs.

Even the impact player remained not out, scoring match-winning 30 runs (18 balls).
