LSG batted first after winning the toss, put a massive 235 runs at the cost of two wickets. Mitchell Marsh led things well, scoring 117 runs in 64 balls.

The Australian batter got much-needed fire back from Nicholas Pooran, who smashed 56 runs unbeaten in 27 balls. He got support from Aiden Markram, who added 36 runs in 24 balls.

Even LSG captain Rishabh Pant contributed 16 runs in six deliveries and set a decent total of 235 runs in 20 overs.

In the process of scoring 235 runs, they lost just four wickets.

For the home side, Shahrukh Khan blasted 57 runs in 29 balls. As the top order of Gujarat was not able to shine well, they were able to add 202/9 in 20 overs.

Will O’Rourke took three wickets of Gujarat and broke their back overall. A loss against Lucknow has not taken GT out of the playoffs race, as they are already qualified.

But it can impact their command over the top two finish as GT have collated 18 points in 13 matches.

Second-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru and third-placed Punjab Kings have both earned 17 points, but have played one less game.

As all teams play 14 matches before the playoffs, a top-two finish plays a massive role in making sure that they get two chances of reaching the final.

But now RCB and Punjab hold the better command in their hands. And all three of these sides are not facing each other in any of these upcoming games.
