Mumbai Indians have found the golden touch, backing them to the core. On Thursday, the five-time Indian Premier League winners outdid the Rajasthan Royals by a massive 100-run margin.
At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the home ground of RR, Sanju Samson’s side were picked to bowl first after winning the toss.
Rohit Sharma continued his golden touch in boxing, adding 53 off 36 balls.
Not just Rohit, but MI captain Hardik Pandya blasted an unbeaten 48 off 23 deliveries. But the top run-getter for the home side was Ryan Rickelton, who played a massive knock of 61 runs.
Three of the top batters shining for MI helped them score 217 runs for 2 wickets in 20 overs.
As the target of 218 runs was huge, Rajasthan had to bat fast. But by doing so, they lost all their wickets in 16.1 overs and scored 117 runs.
England fast bowler Jofra Archer, with 30 runs, scored the most runs for RR. It reflects the deep problem they had while facing MI.
Karn Sharma and Trent Boult took three wickets each, followed by Jasprit Bumrah’s two-wicket contribution, which led MI to win by such a big margin.
The victory has placed MI at the top of the IPL table, with 14 points from 11 games. For RR, it was the eighth defeat from 11 matches in the IPL 2025.
