New Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidarar paid tribute to the franchise legends at the Unbox Event.

Patidarar, who got the RCB leadership just a few weeks back, hailed the contribution of ex-players Ab de Villiers and Chris Gayle along with RCB’s loved cricketer Virat Kohli.

Ahead of the season opener against the Kolkata Knight Riders away from home, even Kohli requested the fans to back their new captain well.

Kohli said: “He has got everything that is required (to succeed).”

Patidarar, who has played already for India, is known for his leadership skills. Even RCB’s batting coach Dinesh Karthik picked him as the leader.

He has been a part of RCB since 2021. Karthik was impressed with Patidarar’s skills in leading Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket.

Hailing the legends, Patidarar said: “Legends like Virat bhai, Ab de Villiers, Chris Gayle have played for RCB. I grew up watching them. From the start, I have loved the franchise a lot. I am more happy that I got a new role to lead one of the biggest teams.”
