For the first time in the Indian Premier Legaue 2025, Rishabh Pant led his team with the bat. India’s Test vice-captain contributed 118 runs not out in 61 balls, making the home side score 227/3 in 20 overs.

Pant got the support from opener Mitchell Marsh, who added 67 runs in just 37 deliveries.

It was a must-win game for RCB. Openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli gave a good base. Salt added 30 runs, while Kohli contributed 54 runs.

Rajat Patidar came as an impact player, but he scored just 14 runs. Things got worse when Liam Livingstone scored a golden duck.

But experienced Mayank Agarwal scored an unbeaten 41 in 23 balls, getting massive support from Jitesh; who blasted 85 not out in 33 balls.

The combination of Mayank and Jitesh made sure RCB won the game in 18.4 overs.

RCB finished second in the IPL table with 19 points in 14 matches. Only a better run rate made the Punjab Kings to the IPL table.

It means in Qualifier 1, on May 29, RCB and PBKS will lock horns for the ticket to the final.

The loser will face the winner of the Mumbai Indians and the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2.

It means both RCB and PBKS have two chances of making it to the final.
